Ramadan Eid
Eid ul Fitr: Zenith of Ramadan
Eid is an Arabic word that signifies the joy of triumph and happiness. It is purely a holy festival for Muslims. They celebrate two Eids throughout the world in one year. One is "Eid-ul-Fitr," and the other is "Eid-ul-Azha". "Eid-ul-Fitr" is observed when Ramadan - the month of fasting, is over while "Eid-ul-Azha" is celebrated at the 10th of Zill Haj after the most important and sacred obligation, "The Haj".
Eid-ul-Fitr also termed as a "Festival of Breaking Fast", is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide, which indicates the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. It signifies the end of the month fasting (the first day of the month of Shawwal). Each Muslim determines the purpose of Ramadan and its vision. To someone, it's like a sheer higher-stop finishing in the glance with the majestic scenery. To someone, it's like a moment to unwind the hectic work of a month. This holy Eid is the only time in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not allowed to fast.
The festival began with the first sighting of the new moon. This time in the Muslim world is the day of triumph and delight. It's also a day of indulgence and making resolutions. However, the celebration is not at the departure of Ramadan. It is a pleasure that people feel after completing an important task.
Eid-ul-Fitr was founded by the Islamic astrologer Muhammad S.A.W. According to certain beliefs, these festivals were begun in Medina after the migration of Muhammad to Mecca. Anas, a famous partner of the Prophet, revealed that, when the Prophet came to Medina, he observed people celebrating two particular days in which they entertained themselves with pleasure and fun. The Prophet remarked that Almighty has fixed two days of festivity instead of these for you, which are better than Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha.
According to the Quran, devotees are expected to address the Takbir throughout the Eid festival. It is a time to enjoy with family and friends and contribute to the needy people. At the end of the fasting days, families collect food items to deliver to the needy people to share the rejoice of the celebration. The feast of fast-breaking Eid-ul Fitr is God's prize for those who fast throughout the holy month. The Eid prayers are the reason for the unity and solidarity of Muslims all over the world. The Holy Prophet and all the Imams celebrated Eid and encouraged each Muslim to do it. They advised Muslims to wear suitable outfits, put on a scent, and go to the mosque to recite Eid prayer.
Each evening at the time of sunset, Muslims are relished to break the fast that they have devotedly followed during daytime hours. The breaking of the fast has been modified to a community event with family, friends, and relatives gathering to celebrate Iftar with eating dates and a cup of yogurt.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a Thanksgiving festival to the Almighty for the blessings given to abide bound to the path lightened by the Holy Quran. This day is also a chance meditation, a day to exhibit and reflect upon the aspects of one's personality, which demand to be established with the guidance of determined self-discipline, encouraged by the blessings of the Almighty.
